The Fregie Sack Info

Find our Fregie Sack Bags under "Just for Mum"
HERE
The Fregie Sack is a unique bag that fills a gap in the fruit and vegetable sector as an alternative to using plastic bags. The bags are made from nylon netting in a range of colours, ensuring durability, and are finished with a drawstring to keep those small pieces contained and end your days of fishing around at the bottom of your green bag.
The Fregie sack is proudly Australian owned and made.

|
|
| The dimensions of the large bags are 30cm x 40cm which allows for easy transfer of produce in and out of the bags. Individual bags may vary slightly in width as we use all our fabric to reduce any waste. Mini sacks are 25cm x 20cm.
|
| |
Although stiff to start with, after a few uses the netting becomes extremely soft and will compact easily so whether you fill your bag or only have a few items it doesn`t take up extra space. It`s easy to shove a few in whichever shopping bag you take to have on hand.
|
| |
The Fregie Sack has a lifespan of 3-4 years and with appropriate usage would probably last for much longer - ours have already been used for two years with little sign of wear. They can easily hold 3-4 kg of produce without damage. Any small holes or tears that may result from accidents with sharp objects are easily repaired and your Fregie can keep on going.

As a unique carry bag the Fregie can be used for:
MATERNITY HOSPITAL - Fantastic for holding babies clothes, toiletries, pens/diaries/mobile phone - colour code with different colours!
CRAFTS - I find they are perfect to keep separate craft projects in, or to separate yarns etc. Both the mini and large sizes come in so handy!
METAL DETECTING - We`re told they`re great as a gear sack for small pieces of equipment while prospecting for gold with a metal detector.
THE BATH - Use for holding bath toys to drain, just loop the handle over the taps. The toys don`t get slimy and the netting isn`t big enough to snag the toys like some other varieties on the market.
THE BEACH - They make a great carrier for the kids toys, buckets and spades. The net allows the sand to fall through and it keeps them all together making it much easier to carry back to the car.
THE WARDROBE - Use them to tidy up and keep pairs of shoes together.
TAP AND BALLET SHOES - Use them to store the shoes, they allow the shoes to breathe and keeps them together for the next class.
TRAVEL – Great for packing use them to keep undies and socks together, separate various outfits or hold extra toiletries. Being see-through you can get what you need immediately without throwing everything around in your case. They also squash down nice and small.
KIDS’ STUFF – Great in the play room for keeping little bits and pieces together, like pens and pencils, puzzle pieces or dolls’ clothes.
WASHING – I use them as a drying bag for my nappy wipes (these are made of microfleece so dry super quickly) but it means I don’t have to hang them up individually, it’s much quicker. They also work as a stocking bag.
THE GARDEN – Use to dry home grown veg like garlic, onions and herbs. Easy to hang from the ceiling!
PEST CONTROL - A few clients have told us how great they are for putting over your ripening fruit to keep the birds, insects or possums away.
PICNICS - Very handy for putting around salads (just put the bowl in the bag) or over fruit to keep flies and wasps away. One lady has even used it as a fly net in an emergency…if you’re not fashion conscious just pop it over your head and keep the flies out of your face, very handy for days in the country!
INDOORS - Use over your fruit bowl or compost bucket to keep those annoying little fruit flies away too.
WOOL PROCESSING FOR SPINNING & FELTING - Great for processing raw fleeces for hand spinning and felting. Lay wool flat in single layer close the drawstring and proceed with your method of scouring. Note: Use light coloured bags and/or test colours before using in hot water to ensure no bleeding of colour!
MAKING LIQUID FERTILISER - Use as a large tea bag to make your own liquid fertilizer. Put horse/sheep/chicken dung or weeds/garden waste in the bag and suspend in water to soak for a few days. Pull out and throw away what’s left in the bag, the liquid is a great nitrogen rich fertilizer. NOTE: We don’t recommend you use the same bags for buying or storing your fruit and veg!
